Upcoming Events

As the start of the fall semester at Queen's has finally arrived, we are looking forward to what this upcoming year has in store! With the growing popularity of the Queen's Sunshine Foundation Club, we are looking to hire more executives to our team, as well as volunteer committee members for the academic year of 2015-2016!

If you are interested in being a volunteer or an executive member for this exciting initiative, please join our Facebook group as this will be our primary medium of communication https://www.facebook.com/groups/859903740762282/. If you are not on Facebook or would prefer to be contacted about events and meetings via email, please respond and you will be added to the mailing list.
Volunteer committee members can attend biweekly meetings and contribute to Sunshine events and movements at their convenience. There is no application process for volunteers as we accept all volunteer members! Executive members will be expected to dedicate one hour a week to club meetings and are expected to participate in, participate in daily club operations and contribute to any Sunshine events and campaigns. Applications for executive positions will be due on Friday, September 25th and should be emailed to us at queenssunshinefoundation@gmail.com .
Position Descriptions:
Awareness and Advocacy Lead
The awareness and advocacy lead is a new position on the Queen’s Sunshine Foundation’s executive team. This individual must be passionate and motivated as they will be developing and leading a new campaign. It is our hope that this person will increase awareness of the Sunshine Foundation within the Queen’s and Kingston communities. We would also like to see the implementation of a childhood disability awareness program within the student body. This person is creative and has the strong interpersonal skills required to fill an advocacy position.
First Year Representatives
These individuals are the Queen’s Sunshine Foundation’s main link to the first year population at Queen’s. The first year representatives play a critical role in raising awareness for and promoting the Sunshine Foundation amongst first year students. These individuals will work with the Event Coordinator and the Awareness and Advocacy lead to ensure that Queen’s Sunshine events and campaigns are inclusive for first year students. This position requires strong interpersonal skills as the representatives will frequently be asked to promote Sunshine and interact amongst their peers.
We are looking forward to meeting you all and spreading some sunshine together throughout the upcoming year!
